Daily Health Check for Students (Parents)
Update from Northern Health for non-symptomatic situations:
If someone is identified as a close contact it really depends on their vaccination status on what actions they would need to take.
If they are fully vaccinated or had COVID-19 within the last 90 days:
- They are not required to self isolate, they can continue to participate in routine activities as long as they do not have any symptoms.
- They are not to visit friends or relatives who are at higher risk for severe COVID-19 for 14 days after they were last exposed to COVID-19.
If they are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and have not had COVID-19 in the last 90 days:
- They are required to isolate for 10 days from the day they last had contact with the person who has COVID-19, even if they do not have symptoms.
- They are not to visit friends are relatives who are higher risk for severe COVID-19 for 14 days after they were last exposed to COVID-19.
Everyone should self monitor from symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days from the day they last had contact with their person that has COVID-19, even if they are fully vaccinated or had COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
Those that develop symptoms should get tested, there is a self-assessment tool to see if they should get tested for COVID-19.
This information is available on the Northern Health COVID-19 testing and self-isolation page.
Please note: For those in First Nations communities in the Northern Health region, and are household contacts, there are additional guidelines on the webpage.
