Welcome!
Nechako Valley Secondary School proudly serves grade 8 to 12 in the Vanderhoof area. Our students travel from many outlying smaller communities, farms and Saik'uz First Nation to attend school. Our enrollment is approximately 690 students and has remained fairly steady for the past years. Students, staff and parents all strive towards our school motto "Learning is the Focus", and it is the reason for the school's success in so many areas.
At NVSS, we feel it is important that our students are well rounded. Successful music, drama, technology, leadership and sports programs are available and students often participate in a variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance their education, and their community involvement. With this mindset, our students leave the school not only skilled in literacy and numeracy, but most of all responsibility, and are prepared as individuals for whatever options they choose after graduation.
